A lot of life … ganz schön viel Leben …

I've been neglecting my blog lately, sorry! Do you know the english saying that "life is what happens while you are busy making other plans"? Well, we've been having a lot of life lately.
At the beginning of June my 86years old mother fell down in the garden and had to go into hospital for a dangerous surgery on her spine. So I've laid all other plans aside to be with her as much as possible, doing only the absolute necessary business stuff.
Luckily she is better now and will be released from hospital next week, but she still needs care and it looks like my parents won't be able to manage on their own anymore. My father is 86 too and ill as well …
We are looking into the possibilities to get a carer for her so that they both can stay at home. They live some distance away from us, so it is not possible for me to be there all the time. But until it is all sorted I will stay with them, while trying to keep up work as good as possible. I start to think that my chosen word of the year 2013 "balance" was quite prophetic …

In my parents' garden …
